George Naughton’s exhibition was years in the making. Each collection holds a story and delivers a message .. George did all the hard work and we at the @theanamgallery had the pleasure of curating and hanging it for you all to see and enjoy. A fantastic picture captured by George’s dad of the piece George presented to @bressie . In the reflection is @ritaoates_artist George’s partner in crime for all his artwork on display. With the support of Rita, George began attaching words and titles to his art. It quickly became apparent that George was processing his grief and struggles through this work. The collection of pieces being exhibited is unique, thought-provoking and filled with hope. They challenge the viewer to reach their own interpretation/conclusions, whilst sharing the central theme that we are entitled to our own thoughts; it is OK to feel sad, lost or alone; that we must all strive to follow our own path; to share our own unique story; to be our own person but never forget that we are all connected and valued.

Well .. what can we say .. We knew from the very start how special and talented George was. We knew just how important his message and his art was and that it needed to be shared. Last night was truly magic on every level. George dedicated his whole exhibition to his inspirational big brother Archie and gave a powerful speech , emotionally supported on every word by his twin brother Isaac by his side.. everyone that attended was blown away by George’s pieces the inspiration, substance , soul that erupts from each piece. The atmosphere was electric. Niall Breslin @bressie coming to open Georgie’s exhibition was the cherry on top of the cake. He gave a insightful, powerful speech and was in his own words blown away by George’s talent and grasp of the topic of #mentalhealthawareness which featured prominently in his work. Niall was so impressed by Georges exhibition it even featured highly in his live show in the @roscommonartscentre last night. George’s exhibition runs until December 2nd so be sure to make a plan to come and experience it for yourself. #georgenaughtonexhibition #mentalhealthawareness
